I know that Noctua NH-D14 comes with two fans that have only 3 pins, whereas the asus p8z77-v motherboard cpu fan can only be controller using PWM. so I guess the Noctua fan will always run 100% in this case.
Is there any method that I can use to avoid having the cpu fan running at full speed all the time? (without replacing the Noctua fans ofcourse)
Thanks.

the chassis fan header have 4 pins, so is it possible to control the noctua fan using this header even if it's 4 pins ? if yes, then how come the cpu_fan header with 4-pins can't control the noctua fan, whereas the chassis fan header can ?
I know that cpu_fan header on asus p8z77-v can't control the cpu_fan speed using voltage, it only does with pwm, is this the same for the chassis fan header or does it behave diffrently ?

Thank you for replying.

no I didn't buy the noctua yet, I just want to make sure I can control it's speed using one of the chassis fan header before I purchase it. So I will be able to control the fan speed by changing the voltage or what ?
