My case does not have the space for it, so I was wondering if i can use this
https://www.amazon.com/UNITEK-Converter-Adapter-Cable-Drive/dp/B00GLL41MA/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1513208029&sr=1-3-spons&keywords=SATA+TO+USB+3.0&psc=1

or do I have to buy this?

Solution
I'm with USAFRet, bonus is the portable ones just power off USB so less cables to worry about.

however both of those devices you linked should work. I've used the Vantec enclosure before and it's pretty large. Ended up sitting permanently on top of my case so I should have just had a larger case.
