I was following a Microsoft answers thread on removing intel rapid storage drivers (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wiki/windows_7-hardware/uninstalling-the-intelr-rapid-storage-technology/e3c4b6d6-56ba-4ac5-be50-89843c9d9b22). So I uninstalled them and rebooted as part of the process.
My computer (Asus TP500L) will not boot, can't access safe mode, can't access windows recovery, can't access prompt. Nothing but "Your PC ran into a problem and need to restart" so fast I can't read bottom part of message (ie we have a glimmer of windows). Bios will not allow switching from ahci mode to ide mode, so can't force load other drivers. Bios will not allow booting from usb, so can't use a windows recovery disk. Have tried numerous solutions for hours here...
My current status: Have removed hdd, and can connect it as external drive on another machine. Idea is to find the proper driver for windows 8.1 and copy it to proper location. Google fu not working, and I am hoping you guys might be able to help.
Thanks!
