How to copy data from old hard drive to new

I have a friend that needs to copy data from an old drive to a new drive. Does anyone know of a site or guide that will have step by step directions for making an old drive a slave so data can be transferred?

Making a HD a slave is as easy as changing one jumper on the HD. There should be a sticker on the HD that tells you what to change. Plug it in on the Primary IDE cable and then you should have your slave drive.
