How to Create Batch/Script to Auto Install Update Files

I have never worked with writing batch files and scripts before, so any help or resources will be appreciated.

I need a way to create a batch or script file to allow me to automatically and silently install all update files in a folder that I've acquired from Microsoft Download Center.

Can someone direct me to some resources on where I can learn about creating batch and script files for this purpose? Thank you for your time.

What's wrong with the regular Windows Update?

Creating a batch script can be done, but that is only part of the issue.
You have to know the exact order, and wait for Update A to be done before starting Update B. Sometimes with a reboot in the middle.
