How to create full backup image usinf vista home premium

i know vista ultimate has the option to back whole hdd as a image fie, but home basic and home premium does not have that option.


i want to save the backup image to my external hdd, so if my main hdd fails i can just boot the image from the external and copy to my main hdd again.


can someone please explain to me how can i backup my hdd and save it to an image file using vista home premium?

and how can i restore the saved image and install back to the main hdd?
