How to Create Legendary Items in Skyrim

So you've found or crafted a really nice weapon, how do you make it even better though you ask? Well, upgrade it to legendary status of course, and here's how!

Step 1)Get the ingredients needed to upgrade the item.
Upgrading items doesn't require much in the way of ingredients so this is the easy part. Check a blacksmith crafting station and try to improve the item and it will tell you what is required to do so.

Step 2)Level up your blacksmithing.
In order to get legendary items, you'll need to raise your blacksmithing level to 100 as well as spend points in the perks for the item you are hoping to upgrade. If the item you want to upgrade is enchanted, you'll need to get the arcane blacksmith perk as well which is the highest in this tree. You don't necessarily need to level this up to 100 if the item isn't enchanted though, you can use potions and wear rings and other items to increase your blacksmithing level. Anything over 100 will increase how good the item is once it is upgraded though. If you need help leveling your blacksmithing quickly, then check out my guide here.

Step 3)Craft away.
Now that you've got the skills required, or at least some potions to chug to get there, head to any of the blacksmithing areas of the game and get to work on upgrading that item. Just find it in the upgrade list and confirm you'd like to upgrade it, and you'll have a great new legendary item.
