How to create website shortcut on desktop

I want to create some website shortcut on my desktop. Is it possible to make shortcut?
The alternate method is make bookmarks but when there are too many bookmarks in browser, it feel annoying to get a particular site from bookmarks. That's why I want to create all websites shortcuts on my desktop.
If anyone knows here please answer.

Copy the URL of the web site.
Right-click on your desktop and select New Shortcut.
Paste the URL into the Location field and click Next.
Give the shortcut a name and click Finish.

Alternately, if the site is already a bookmark, just click and drag it to your desktop.
