How to delete a Folder but not its contents (moves everything up 1 level)

I need to DELETE a high level folder on Drive G:\xyz, so that afterwards all the stuff below it will have been "moved up 1 level" (actually right under G:\), so it's like the deleted folder was was never there.

Ctrl+A>copy>paste to folder 1 level up. It can't be simpler.
