How to delete a hard drive's data that you can't boot into

So I pulled an old hard drive out of my old laptop awhile ago which has windows 7 on it. What i want to do is completely delete all of the data off it including the os so that i can just use it as a second drive. any information that might help me with this problem?

connect it to your pc, right click the drive and select format. Make sure you are doing a full format, not a "quick format".

You can also do this under Disk management.
