i have a spare monitor at home and i want to use it as a portable ebook reader. so i tried hooking up a Raspberry pi behind the monitor. but the problem is the vga connector sticks out of the monitor. i mean the vga connector is not aligned with the panel ( the connector is at 90degree with the panel). if it was at 180degree with the panel it would save a lot of space and let me make the ebook reader slim. the vga connector is soldered with the board. can i somehow detach it or maybe buy an external connector and take some wires from each hole of that connector and put it in the vga connector of the board?
my monitor is Samsung syncmaster SA100
the built in board is currently dead but a repair shop seemed to have a board for this panel. so i can buy that or a board from ebay. i don't know which board will support this panel. is there any way to determine if a board will support my panel?
