I got a brand new liquid cooler since my old cpu fan was kinda old, and I needed to move these USB and button cords for the fan part to fully screw into the side of the case, but these cords don't seem to want to give:

The USB were pretty obvious. Unscrew the 3 screws then pop it out. But these I've been lightly tugging on for 10 minutes and I dont want to apply any major pressure unless there's some latch I'm missing. Am I being too paranoid?

On the sides of those connectors are tabs with a cut in them where retaining pin is. You need to gently pull them up while pulling on the center part.

On the black connectors can you see what appears (to me) as the locking pin for the connector.

Specifically look at the left connector being shown and the very small square shape just above the "24".

That looks like a locking pin.

Hopefully you can flex the connection or otherwise move/press the connector (do not use anything metal) to free the plug.

By pressing and pulling I managed to get one free (along with the help of some hard plastic tweesers) but one of them just doesn't want to give. Not sure what else I can do other than just pressing harder, but my fingers are already pretty beat up.

Rest your fingers a bit. Relax, carefully wiggle and rock the connector to loosen it up a bit more.

Use the same process but first gently push the connector in just a bit it at all possible. Doing so may allow the pins more freedom to move and unlatch.

Watch how the connector moves and use that to free up one side and then the other side.

Little steps - no real force.
