How to detect if graphics card is being used

someone is offering me the 6970 for a good price

he said that the card is new but i wanna know how to make sure that its new

Like, relatively new, or never been out of the packaging new?

The 6970 hasn't been out that long and if he says its new does he mean he put it in the Pc or did it come with it. If he put it in and recently then he should have a reciept or tell you where he bought it from and they would have a record of the purchase. If he says he dosn't have the reciept then that would be kind of crazy because you need the reciept for any warrenty issues and an expensive card like that you are going to keep the reciept.

guys we are living on saudi arabia

however he bought the card from amazon then he sent it to saudi

he said that he never put it in pc but he openn the packeg to make sure that every thing is allright

If you are buying it off of him there is a good chance the company wouldn't give you the warranty. I say this because it tends to be valid for only the original owner. Just because he may have used it and it worked doesn't mean that the card won't go. I have had one go after using it for three months. You mention that he is selling it for a good price but is it still a good price. But if you are getting a high end card like that and something goes wrong then you are going to be out the money. So it is a question of risk vs reward if you are getting only $50 off it would be better to buy a new card, but if the price is even less than that you have to make a decision if you think it is worth it or not. If you could tell us the price that would help.

i have tested the card and it was used verey badly i saw some pepsi on the card!

OMG , was the guy eating his lunch inside the Pc or what, how do you get Pepsi on a video card. Getting back to the newness of the card and the reciept , even though ha sent it overseas if it was bought on Amazon there would still be a record of the purchase and you could see when it was purchased.
