Hi guys. I just bought an Asus X550LD with an Intel Core i7, 8Gb ram, a Nvidia 820M and the poor Intel HD Graphics 4400. Knows somebody to disable it because I saw the games take the Intel GPU not Nvidia and the FPS is very low. I tried to disable it from devices but if I do this it's like I have no GPU. The settings are on high performance on Intel HD Graphics control panel. I selected for Nvidia control panel to run the games on nvidia but games still take the Intel GPU. Is there a way to disable it?

Tried in BIOS but appears just dedicated memory of 64mb and 512mb. And I tried on Device Manager but when I disable it the games work in 1 FPS (like no gpu)

I will do this later. And I will try again disabling it in the Device Manager. All drivers are up to date. But I need an external monitor to use dedicated video card?

mgilbert is mistaking your laptop for a standalone PC (which would normally have a video output for the onboard graphics and an output on any installed video card).

As s/he says, check the BIOS. Almost certainly there'll be a setting in there to either select the graphics adapter to use or to disable the Intel HD.

Tried to find in BIOS but nothing. Usually it appears to be something with Chipset, Southbridge and Northbridge. At me this is not present. I tried to update BIOS but it brings me back to the desktop

On the Asus website, it links this manual http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/X550LA/E_eManual_X550LA_LB_LC_VER7926.pdf for the X550LD (although the filename lists A/B/C?)

Page 87 shows 'Graphics Configuration' under 'Advanced' in BIOS. Does your BIOS not look like the one in the manual? And did no manual come with the laptop, either hard copy or electronic copy on a disc or on the laptop harddrive itself?

If you've just bought it you should be complaining to the retailer before trying to change the BIOS.
