Hi, I hope you're well.

I have an optical mouse with storm effect lights (so, I don't want to disable the red light on the bottom, but the storm lights only normally). I want to disable them completely or at least when the PC is in sleep mode (shut down, too).
  1. The motherboard is Gigabyte G31M-2ESL
  2. Putting a sock or any other creative solutions like painting is not applicable.

OP is Windows 10. Is there any software to download or built in the control settings that I should check in order to completely disable storm lights? I don't even know why they produce a mouse with storm lights without an option to turn them off.
I've googled. Nothing.
One guy is mentioning the ERP enabling in BIOS, but I googled and it showed that it is problematic for Gigabyte.
And my PC is mostly in a sleep state, almost always, so I want to shut it down at least when it is in a sleep state, but would prefer completely disabling the storm lights.

Cheers

Solved. Open the mouse, crashed the LED lights, closed the mouse.
I wouldn't advise that though, but just taping with a black tape inside the interior of the transparent parts of the mouse.
Now it doesn't emit light even when it's plugged in.
