Hi, I recently just replaced my old motherboard with an Asus M5A97. However, there was no video output from the GPU when the computer turned on, (I've tried switching cables, monitors, making sure everything is plugged in), and I was told to update the bios. However, I can't access the bios menu since there is no video output. My specs are
ProcessorAMD FX-8300 3.3GHz

Storage1TB 7200RPM

GraphicsAMD Radeon HD 8570 2GB GDDR3W

ChipsetAMD 970

GPU/VGA TypeAMD Radeon HD 8570 2GB

Memory Capacity16 GB DDR3

My question is? How do I update without access to the bios? Please help me!

Thank you

Solution
It depends on how BIOS update files are delivered. Some motheboards update BIOS by booting floppy / CD which directly updates the BIOS, others need running OS to do that. Quick check of the manual shows you could do that "blind" eventually, if you follow the manual.

Why you think you need BIOS to be updated? The CPU seems to be supported, so clear CMOS, leave just the minimum components (CPU, RAM, GPU), and try again. Make sure you have connected speaker to hear any diagnostic beeps.

In a previous thread, someone said to update the bios since the bios might be an older version that isn't compatible with my processor. I have cleared CMOS 3 times with no result. However, I don't have a speaker. My motherboard doesn't have an internal speaker, so I will have to hook up a speaker to the 4 pin speaker output. Also, It seems that my USB ports don't work either so...
