Hey all.

A few days ago my 750ti fried and got green lines all over it due to water damage. I saw something about possibly reviving gpus with an alcohol bath on a forum, but the post was old and didn't have much detail. How do I go about doing this? I have a container that will fit the card and 90% alcohol. How long do I do it for and do I need to disassemble the cooler or anything?

Solution
Yes, it is best if you can disassemble the cooler and put the card, only the card, in the alcohol bath.
You must also prepare thermal paste to assemble the cooler back to the card.
I personally would not soak the cooler in the alcohol too, drying the fan motor is not really my thing.

Container? just use any container you can find which fit, without the cooler, the card is quite a lot smaller.

How long? several minutes (2-5 mins) should already work, I never tried longer.

After that dry it with hair dyer and put the card in a container fill with raw or uncooked rice for a night.

After all of that, clean the card from the dust (should be rice dust) and you can also optionally put the card in an oven set to 100-140'C for about an...
