I've been trying to download embedded flash videos from various sites with no success. I've tried (2) different extensions for chrome but when the video player pops up, the only 'downloadable content' they detect is not the video - rather some remnant of the video. For example, a .13MB flash video. I know that's not the real 10 minute video.

I must be doing something wrong. Ideas?

what are the websites in mind? if its something like youtube then id go to http://dirpy.com.
It is a pretty straightforward website for this and can record video as well as audio only.

chrome extensions arent really great for downloading embed flash videos as they arent always perfect and are buggy

if its another site then i would try another web browser such as @ http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/maxthon_portable
open the browser. hover your mouse pointer above the video in question. there should be a small tooltip that says download.
Click save and save the file to whatever you want.

http://pbskids.org/wildkratts/videos/ for example. I did install Maxthon when I Read your response. What happens when the video starts playing is that I do see the little box which says "download" on the left side and "popups" on the right side. However, the "download" is grayed out. I feel like this is all the same problem - the extensions won't download, Maxthon doesn't want to either.

Thanks for chiming in. I hope to figure this out soon! Thanks!
