I am looking to download a lot of music CD's that I own to my pc to put on my plex sever so I can stream them. The only thing is I have loads of them, and doing them one at a time takes ages. Is there anything I can buy/do to make it quicker.

I would also like it in a high quality audio format (storage is not to much of an issue to me) and be nicely organized into folders so Plex can organise them correctly.

Thanks

Depends on the website I believe or their host. Most will only allow you two simultaneous streams in my experience and they usually cannibalize each other's bandwidth.

There are downloaders you can get I believe, that may allow you to que your downloads.

Physical CD's you have?
How many CD drives do you have?

Yes physical CD's.
If more CD drives would work it would not be a problem for me to get hold of them. At the moment I have 1 but I could easily get as many as I needed. Budget is not to much of a problem.

And when I mean a lot my family have a large extensive music collection expanding at least over 1000 CD's so I would like to digitize as many of them as I can.

Really, So ripping your CD's to Itunes is illegal in the UK.

To make it clear I own all the CD's and have never Pirated anything, and Damn the Google Play Movies are expensive.

yes ripping cds you bought and paid for is illegal in the uk

yes i know thats stupid but its the law as it currently stands here

Well...
1 PC, 1 physical CD drive = 1 physical CD at a time.
2 = 2, sort of.

Share the workload. Multiple PC's, multiple CD drives, multiple users.
Give family members 50 each. "Here, do this, and here's how."
Once they are on a HDD, consolidating is easy.

My family have no interest in doing so or have the patience so would having 5 CD drives in my PC running at the same time work if so what software would work for this.

well its normally made for making lots of copies of cds/dvds but it can actually be used to rip the stuff off and store it to your hard drive instead of copying it to another disc

you load 100 cds/dvds and leave it to it

Then they have no interest in listening to them :)

Anyway...5 CD drives would require 5 spare SATA ports, both power and motherboard. Doubtful you have that many.

That's about the best plan.

thats fine long as moderator has no problem with it neither do i

I currently have 4 spare SATA ports and power will not be an issue either as I own adaptors. The only problem is would it work and if so what software would support it.

I have seen CD duplicators and actually sold one that came into my possession, but that was for burning or duplicating discs. The manufacturer was Cheetah, I believe. Ripping is different because of the software issue supporting multiple sources(drives).

dBpoweramp software supports ripping from multiple drives simultaneously
