How to download ps3 patches for games

my patch is not downloading on the ps3 so can i download it on the comp and then transfer it

hmmm, if it is anything like downloading the PUP update file you may be able to find them somewhere but i have never seen them.

I've never seen PS3 game updates via computer. They usually come over the PSN and automatically update whenever you try to play the game.
