So you need to find out what format that original movie was and save it as that. That will get you the right size.
thank you, works fine. had to use a higher bitrate as Movie Maker seems to have a less efficient codec, but file size is now reasonable.
Often when you re-encode and already compressed movie you end up with a larger size unless you use the same codec. I've done a few movies that were like 800mb, then when I looked at the output I was at over 2 GB. Took a few tries to sort out what was happening, the compression and encoding does not work efficiently when working with an already compressed file so you often end up with a larger file than you started with.
