I have a white Hasp4 parallel dongle for a client who manages a BMS System. unfortunately the old system which had a parallel port has long since died and i have been tasked with setting up xp on a new machine without a parallel port. I am trying to find a way to emulate a hasp4 dongle or get it to function with the usb to parallel adapter. i am at a loss and need some guidance. Any questions for further information feel free to ask. Thanks in advance.

Solution
The simplest solution - get a motherboard (or second-hand laptop/desktop) with parallel port. They are still being manufactured, in various formfactors. And remind your customer that he is living on borrowed time.

Asking your client to upgrade his/her software is another option, but I suppose it would be much more expensive than $150 for a motherboard.

Solution

I tried the parallel card but it turns out there are certain settings that need to be programmed into the bios for this to function.

i have tried another computer with a parallel port embedded and that worked just fine.
