Hey guys I've been watching this site/forum for a while and got much help out of it. So I built my new PC after many years of console monopoly and I have this question thats been bothering me. I've searched around the net but haven't found anything to help me understand what do I have to do. I want the best out of my USB 3.0. I am planning on getting a Samsung external SSD T1 and read that to max out speeds my mobo must support USB3.0 with UASP so I did a reasearch for my mobo and saw that it does support UASP but I have to enable/install USB 3.0 boost software... :S I have seen that on ASUS downloads but I would really appreciate some info about the matter. Thank you and below is my brand new rig. 😀

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790k 4.0 Ghz
M/B: Asus MAXIMUS VII HERO
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3-1866
Hard Disk: Samsung 850 Pro Series 256GB SSD
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 4GB Gaming
Case: Cooler Master Storm Stryker
PSU: SeaSonic Platinum 860W 80+ Platinum Certified
Optical Drive: LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer

Yes that is obvious. I did and I got a bunch of setups.. There is a folder out of many and says usb 3.0 boost. I open it and I get another setup application with other sub folders like usbdriver uasdriver and inside more setup application file. I run the setup from usb 3.0 boost folder and a bar appeared and I suppose installed something I couldn't read because it was finished in 1 second. That was it? How does this work? Is it a driver? Is it a software that must be installed like rapid on ssd's? That kind of info I request.

Yeap thats what I was looking for. Thanks!

I installed the AI Suite 3 and also found the usb 3.0 option as well. Going to test it and see if it actually works which btw sounds really fascinating. At the moment my external USB 3.0 WD My passport has a transfer speed of 80 MB/s.. While I care most about this for my future Samsung T1 I am curious if that will indeed boost My passport's speeds.
