My Memorex 256MB USB 2.0 thumb drive has not files listed, but says it is 95% used. Could there be "invisible" (and harmful?) files on the drive? How can the drive be completely erased?

Solution
Joe Lab, open up your system to show hidden files and folders and also protected system files and folders from the Tools menu>Folder Options then View menus in Windows Explorer. You should then see all the files on the thumb drive. Delete them all from the Edit menu then SelectAll then the Delete button then in Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk management, format the drive completely - twice.

That should do it.
