how to erase everything from dvd+r dl disc

my dvd+r dl disc is write protected and i want to erase everything off of it can anyone tell me how to do that?

You cant.
Its a write once, read many times disk.
Erasable optical disks are dvd-rw/+rw or dvd-ram (only supported on some dvd burners)

You can scratch the surface up with something hard or just take a hammer and smash the disk up. Or burn it.....

You make a good point Spooky. I was thinking they wanted to re-use the disk.
