Hi guys, so I'm helping a friend build a budget PC--he wants Windows 11. So, obviously we want to make sure we grab a MoBo that should be compatible with it out of the box.

One thing we are struggling with is being able to tell what boards do/don't have a TPM2.0 module already installed. We're using PCPartPicker--don't see anywhere that we can select that as an option.

If anyone knows of how to find out if a board has one before buying, or a way to get around it, or even a board compatible with 3rd Gen Ryzen under $115 that has that module, that would be great. We're kind of struggling finding that info

Oh, I forgot to mention the one we were looking at currently was: ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming-ITX/ac Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard

Solution
What is your budget?
What are the prospective parts for your build?
What will be the primary use?
Unless you really need a small case, a more normal case and parts should be a better value for a budget build.

Here are the supported win 11 processors for amd:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...supported/windows-11-supported-amd-processors
And for Intel:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...pported/windows-11-supported-intel-processors

I would be more concerned about other factors than win 10/11
The physical thing? Almost no motherboard has it, some have headers to add it. Obviously header takes space so don't expect one on ITX board. However, if all you need it for is to install Win 11 then you don't need it at all. Most boards are equipped with firmware version that is enough to pass Win 11 installation check. How to find if given board has it? Read the manual. In case of the Fatality board you linked, manual page 58, BIOS option named "AMD fTPM Switch" is what you looking for.

Okay that makes a lot more sense. I try and keep up with stuff like this but I'm pretty unfamiliar with it so I didn't know that. But it does seem like you said, in the manual it has a switch for it in the BIOS. So I would assume that means I shouldn't have to worry about it correct?

If that's the case, the system we are building exceeds all other requirements to install and run Win11 so I think we should be good. He wants to keep using Win10 for a bit until he's ready to upgrade so we just want to make sure there won't be any hiccups when it comes to that time.

Thanks!
