Hello today I got 2 Gateway laptops, the model is M465-E and I was wondering how to find out the RAM. They are working but without hardrives and personally I run a Mac so I don't have any spare hardrives. Is there a way to physically tell?
When the system boots up, it should give you the option to go into bios(usually by pressing F2 or something similar). This is where you can make changes to settings like boot priority, and other things. It should list the amount of memory.
Yes, there are little stickers on the DIMMs that indicate their capacity
I think they removed that sticker, it was a college laptop so they took the hardrives and a green and red sticker from the laptop. To protect information I think, the other stickers it has don't seem to say.
You should be able to get to bios, and see how much ram there is.
Sorry I'm very ignorant is that something physical or part of the OS? I would use DOS but without a hardrive all it does is say searching for components or something
