Question How to find the right RAM ?

Hello guys,

I need to upgrade the memory (RAM) for my old PC and I'm not entirely sure how to find the compatible one. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 Series. During my internet research, I came across this tool https://www.compuram.de/blog/raminator/ , which is supposed to help me find the right RAM. Has anyone had experience with such tools, and can one be sure that the RAM will fit?
