How to fix 1 long beep on computer

How do I fix my computer it has 1 long beep and then after a minute the computern shuts down ive just got a I got this problem just now when I got my new motherboard and I've tried different ram and still won't work

HERE (LINK) is a list of BIOS Beep Codes. They depend on which type of BIOS you have, but only Dell shows "One Beep". AMI and IBM show "One Short Beep".

Could you please list your system specs. Is it a prebuilt or self built? If self built please give the manufacturer and model # for each component.

The pc is self built I have
A Intel core 2 quad q6600
A gtx 650ti
A Alpine 700w psu
16gb ddr3 ram
A 1tb Segate hard drive
And a ACER VERITON M275 / G41M07 V 1.0 SOCKET LGA775 MOTHERBOARD

I would suspect the PSU. Not a quality unit. Not even listed in the THG PSU Tier List (LINK) nor the NewEgg PSU Tier List (LINK)

HERE (LINK) is a sad story where another guy had 2 of these Alpine 700W PSUs burn out.

Get a good PSU from Tier 1 or Tier 2 in the above lists. 500W to 550W should be plenty.

If you like, confirm it is a bad PSU by trying a spare ore borrowing one from a friend temporarily.

It's not the psu I just tried my friend one and his is a 80 plus bronze and I still have that 1 long beep

Are you sure that your mobo has the correct bios for the old CPU?

What do you mean by old mobo

You have a NEW MOBO and an old CPU, right? The BIOS in the new MOBO must be compatible with the old CPU.
