Question How to fix 144hz screen tearing in valorant?

I get like 230-250fps in game and when I cap to 144fps there is so much tearing I can't even play and it isn't smooth. If I leave it uncapped there is still some tearing visible but not that much but the game still feels very slow and the 144hz feel like 60. Valorant is the only game with this problem. Any help?

My specs:

CPU: i3-12100f
GPU: rx 580 4gb (I have a feeling it might be the gpu)
RAM: 32gb 2400mhz
MOBO: msi pro h610m-e
Monitor: Samsung odyssey g3 LS24AG300NUXEN

enable vsync in game settings that fixes tearing issue automatically caps fps to display refresh rate

General rule I follow: If I cap FPS I always cap it 2-3 FPS below my target refresh to avoid overshoots. Even then it doesn't gurantee a newly created frame will line up with the refresh window of your display.

Other then that, your options are Vsync (solves tearing at the expense of potentially adding input lag) or some form of Variable Refresh Rate technology (assuming monitor/GPU support).

But yes, this is a problem that has existed for decades and is inherent with fixed refresh rates.
