Hey guys. For 2 months or so i am expieriencing low memory messages on my PC. When i look up it says i use 7 out of the 8 Gigs of RAM, that i have installed. I checked up really quickly my Task Manager and i didnt say any big programs using a lot of memory. So what i did is just calculated the EXPECTED RAM usage and guess what. If task manager processes where read up correctly, i should not have used more than 3.5 Gigs of ram at that very moment. Yet my Task Manager was saying that 7 out of 8 Gigs are utilised, while at the same time under the process tab, the processes that are actually going did not show a ram usage over 3.5G. So this obviously is a RAM - Leak. My question. HOW TO FIX IT

You sure you have "all prcesses" showing? Not sure that how you doing it is correct..
For the OS to think it running out of mem.. it should show it in the task manager processes.. if it not shown there.. the OS does not think it using it.
So you would expect to see the app with the mem leek showing more and more in use over time..

May be someone else can confirm..

But in answer to your question.. find the app that's leaking and fix it.
Cheers

Take another look at your Task Manager and click to sort by RAM with the programs using the most RAM being displayed at the top... I suspect that it could be Chrome if you have a ton of tabs saved. Are you using a PageFile? I also recommend that you take a close look at all your startup programs... they preload programs on boot and that can use up a lot of your memory. You will need to install a 3rd Party Startup Manger (don't rely on MSConfig since that only displays a tiny handful of startups).

Ty for the fast responses. But i tried figuring out. I sorted all the processes yet in task manager. But just 3 GB of RAM where going nowhere. Just floating in the air
