Hello,
just tried plugging my Backup-HDD via SATA/USB-adapter.
As soon as the metal of the USB-ports touched(!) each other (USB wasnt even plugged), I hear the HDD turn off. No sound. I plugged it and there was no new drive in Windows.
I didnt realize what was going on and tried another USB-plug on the backside of my tower... connected HDD power supply, waited for the HDD to turn on, tried to plug the USB again, HDD turns off again. (think I even saw a little "light" flashing between the both metal parts of the USB plug.
My Windows is still fine, no bluescreens or such.
Now I´m actually afraid to plug other devices (smartphone, USB-sticks etc) or simply restart my PC. Also I m very scared, my backup on this HDD is gone.
Can anyone lead or help me with this?
Thank you.
PS: I´m not using any new tools, just the same adapter/cables like a week ago, when everything was fine.
