I have an Asus z270 gaming plus

Here are the problems
Nite My headset has a mic
When I plug in my headset into my audio port in the motherboard (circle dots) there is audio, but the Mic does not work

When I plug it into my front panel connector there's no audio or Mic working.

I have the realtek driver downloaded most updated from the msi website for my motherboard. I tried doing the trick where you disable front panel detection the realtek software but there is still no audio or Mic with the front panel port. (I still have the problem where there's audio but no Mic working with motherboard circle audio port)

My front panel audio connector is connected to my motherboard . This sucks cause if I play games I have to use the audio port on the motherboard but a mic won't work. So I tried using my front panel then the problems I described occurred

ALSO PLS ANSWER THIS
SHOULD I DOWNLOAD THE REALTEK FROM THEIR SITE OR THE MSI REALTEK WHICH HAS A BLUE BACKGROUND

Your front panel audio header is plugged at your motherboard?
After that, your headset has 2 cables correct? One pink and one green. Do you plug them into the correct colors at the back of your motherboard?

There's no color identification on my io shield and case but there was only one front audio panel connector on the mktherboard. I checked where it was on bios too on motherboard explorer. My headset has one jack that plugs into a port. The microphone is connected it's a boom mic

Update. I went to device manager and clicked on audio inputs and outputs. It showed Mic realtek and speakers realtek. I tried to update the drivers from stuff in my computer there but there was no Hd audio choice.

You have installed Asus Realtek software package? (when it is installed/running, there is an additional black speaker icon (similar to normal WIndows sound icon), but, running with all the hidden icons....; right clicking on it gives a Realtek control panel...

Your post says you are using an Asus motherboard...

I'd recommend removing whatever MSI-supplied Realtek software bundle you are currently using, and download the correct Realtek driver/software package from your Auss MB installation CD, or from the Asus website...

Or was Asus at top of your initial post a typo? :)

It was a typo I have an msi z270 gaming plus mobo.

UPDATEEE EVERYONE

I REPLIED MY HD AUDIO PANEL PPWER LEDS AND RESET SWITCH AND STUFF.

NOW MY AUDIO WORKS BOTH ON THE FRONT PANEL AND MOBO

BUT THE LAST ISSUE IS MICROPHONE THERE'S NO MICROPHONE GREEN FLASHING.

I had similar issues - my equipment: Aorus Master x570 motherboard, HyperX CloudStinger headset, Ryzen 3700 cpu, 2070 super hybrid, Lancool 2 case

1) Go to Gigabyte's website and download the drivers for realtek
- When I first set up the PC, I had issues where people would complain that I sounded like an alien, or a russian submarine, that I sounded staticky.... Once I downloaded and installed the driver (then restarted my pc) - I was set.
- Then it happened again 6 months later, I did the exact same thing it worked fine.

Always check to make sure the cable is plugged in properly, all the way. Anyone plugging into the front panel can tell you, sometimes it looks all the way plugged in and it isnt
