Hello everyone! :)

I'm new around here, I check Tom's Hardware for news for almost everything related to this world, but, unfortunately, I'm not so familiar with the forum.

I was checking Colif post because I'm encountering some BSOD on my tablet. I feel the systems has like "lags" or "bumps" and after a while, BSOD. I followed your steps of your tutorial and I didn't have activated all the .dmp, but I had "something" in the folder, so I hope it contains the information you need. I wonder if there's something I should worry since I bought the ROG Flow Z13 this April... and all of the sudden I'm having these issues.

PS: thank you in advance for your help :)

Hi :)

lets see what you have.

BugCheck: [SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (3B)]
Probably caused by: win32kfull.sys (Process: D2R.exe)

so it was a GPU driver but you have 2. Because tablet uses intel switchable graphics for desktop and Nvidia, for gaming, it can be difficult to tell which. Since one bsod happened in a game, I might guess its the Nvidia drivers.

is D2R Diablo 2 Resurrected? Its victim, I am just curious

Now did you get the Nvidia driver direct from Nvidia?

what I would do is run ddu in safe mode, uninstall the Nvidia drivers, boot back into normal mode and grab the latest Nvidia drivers from here - https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-flow/rog-flow-z13-2022-series/helpdesk_download/

so um? I haven't seen it report 2 sticks as 8 before?

there is a newer bios to one you on - https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-flow/rog-flow-z13-2022-series/helpdesk_bios/

Solution
That's a real quick reply... Wow. :openmouth:

It has 3 graphic cards. Tablet has intel one + 3050 Ti and it's plugged to an external 3080. When you use the 3080, the system deactivates (I'd like to think) the 3050 Ti from the tablet.

It was plugged to the 3080 when the error ocurred. And yeah, it happened once when I was on D2R (Diablo II Resurrected). And I get all the updates of the graphic card from GeForce Experience software.

I got no idea what you refer when you said the ram is showing odd  It has 16 Gb. But thanks, I'll update the BIOS right now 😄

Greetings

I'm even more confused due to the RAM haha...

Well, tablet has an intel and a nvidia gpu itself, and when I get home I connect it to the ROG XG Mobile, which has a 3080 inside and I "activate it". (the ROG XG Mobile is already prepared at home with the monitor, keyboard and mouse prepared).

I'm really glad that you told me about the software issue because I was worried, I'll try the downgrading the graphics and let's see. I'm very curious how you find out this information and how much knowledge you must have...

Thanks a lot 😀

A friend wrote a program that uses a tool written by Microsoft to convert the dump files into a format I can read. Understanding output is an ongoing process. It has taken me answering BSOD for about 6 years to get to understand clues

dxgmms2.sys is DirectX. 99% of the time it is seen as cause the actual cause is going to be GPU drivers.
the code of the 1st BSOD also tells me its GPU related

the cause of 2nd one more educated guess. I have seen Win32kfull.sys associated with GPU errors before. Error happening in a game was part of it too.

bios update could fix how ram is showing. BIOS is reporting it as being like that, my report just reads what it shows.

Thank you so much for your help and your insight about this matter. Knowing that there're nice people like you, willing to help others selflessly, sparks my hope again 😀 (and the speed you replied, gosh... ty)

Have a lovely weekend.
