Question How to fix gpu from crashing pc

I have a GTX970, I5-4690K, recently whenever i play games such as now with rust, I get into the game and select a server and either it just crashes, or I load into it and it crashes and resets my pc. I recently dusted out my pc and applied new thermal paste to the cpu. I get no error message it just resets my pc. Any suggestions?

no it didnt, everything worked perfectly fine up until about 3 months ago. i dusted everything off, new thermal paste, and nothing is working. I do believe it is the psu

So the problem occurred 3 months ago, ive done plently of cleaning throughout the 5 years ive had my pc, when it started to shut down after playing games, i cleaned it again, didnt work, applied new thermal paste because i thought it was something with the cpu and it still happened, cleaned out my gpu and it still happens.

Could you perhaps provide more insight into the problem? Provide the specifications of the computer, any corresponding crash dumps, and the Windows version (use winver.exe). In addition, how old is your power supply? Are you overclocking any hardware?

That is more than likely a power supply issue.

I personally wouldn't know, I haven't heard of a certain power supply that is known to be bad.
