[SOLVED] How to fix monitor to 144 frames

Wasssuppp my dudes I have a question... I've been playing pc for about 2 years now I built my computer. Just today I switched from a GTX 1060 6gb to an RTX 2080 super. I really like the card it looks cool and stuff but there is a small issue. My old graphics card used a DVI cable to my monitor and it worked perfectly. But my new graphics card doesn't have a DVI port so I'm using a display port cable but it only supports 60 fps. My monitor has a capability of 144 frames. I believe from what I was running into is that I need a new monitor because the adapter on amazon DVI to display port cords only can get 60 fps

You could look into using an active cable converter , it maybe more capable than a straight pin adapter

The monitor won't know it's on an adapter.
