Question How to fix my headset's microphone?

I haven't use my desktop for 3 weeks, and just now that I am back to using it my headset had problems. First the sound was off and it did not sound as it used to, I already fixed this part by balancing the left and right sounds output. But I have no idea how to fix the microphone, I tried almost everything suggested in different forums, I checked all the drivers were up to date, played around with windows sound setting, connecting to the front panel jack, and nothing seems to work. But why in the first place did the mic stop working? I haven't update anything. Please help. My headset is Turtle Beach Atlas Elite.
