[SOLVED] How to fix my mistake after installing Windows 10 with an hdd drive ?

i didnt read the warning before getting Windows 10 installer onto the drive. after i did it i realize my drive going from 1tb to a 30 gb. i am ok w losing the data on the drive but going from 1tb to 3 gb is what bug me. i am not a tech guy so unsure what to do to undo it.

do you mean a USB drive? were you making an installer or installing windows onto a PC?

I think its just formatted a partition as 30gb?

installer can't take space off you, its just used what it needs. 1tb is too much for the installer :)

Can you look in disk management? It should show the missing space.

You have to try formatting the drive yourself. Use Win 10 to format the HDD to 1Tb again. Use google if you're unsure how to do it, but it's very simple and takes a minute.

If this screws up your Windows boot or Windows prevents you from formatting the drive, then the only thing you can do is install windows again, and this time with the HDD disconnected.

After installing Windows, reconnect the HDD, and format it back to 1 Tb if you haven't already.
