How to fix my screen lag for pc

if i start a online game my pc is lagging hard not in the network but in the creen.
it freezes and it is verry slow .
i already tryed to set the quality to lowest and the screen the liddlest performance i hope you know what i mean .
( my english isnt so good XD )
