how to fix no bootable device on hp notebook after replacing hard drive

That is what Im trying to do but Ihave to get past the No Bootable device insert boot disk press any key! Can you help me with that? I have turned on legacy and it didnt boot and here i am now

Well you need a windows dvd or a flash drive with the windows install on it.

Since its a new hdd it's empty

If you've got a dvd or flash drive you have to change the bootdisk in the bios to it. Then install windows

You need to get a media (dvd or flash drive) that has windows on it.
then you need to put that in yoru computer and go into BIOS to set teh install media to boot first before hard drive (or use one time boot menu if your comptuer has that feature).

can you get me into bios again? maybe i can do something from there. right now im just looking at No Bootable Device----insert boot disk and press any key. Im a bit concerned with just pushing a bunch of buttons trying to get back to Bios! what would you do???

Instead of just randomly mashing buttons on the keyboard, google how to enter bios on your computer.
Usually it is F2 or Del key but I have seen different borads use something else.
