Question How to fix SATA drives not showing up in the BIOS.

Sep 22, 2020
Hello! I have a newly built computer that was working for a few weeks before it told me it could no longer detect an OS. I went into the BIOS, and it wasn't recognizing any of my memory storage devices (a SATA SSD and an NVME M.2 SSD). I unplugged the M.2 one and have tried all of the other SATA slots and cables running from my PSU (the SATA SSD holds my OS), and I've had no luck.

I used my old computer to test the SSD, and it booted up just fine. I then used the cable that worked and plugged it into the new computer, and it's not working.

So I'm thinking it's the MOBO or the cables on the PSU. I'm not sure if there is any more troubleshooting I can do besides saying it's a faulty MOBO.

MOBO: MSI MPG z370 Pro Carbon AC
