I have one monitor.
It has no signal when it is connected via dvi or vga to the motherboard
HOWEVER it has signal when it is connected to my evga ssc 1060 6gb gpu.

Does this mean my motherboard is messed up and ill never be able to have two monitors with this type of gpu with only one monitor adapter

In addition my new monitor asus v228 21.5 inch has a small green dot on the top of the border of the screen.

The motherboard video is automatically disabled when graphics card installed. It might be possible to enable it via BIOS, depending on the board and CPU.
But you can connect 2 or more monitors to a graphics card, depending on the available ports.
