Question How to fix thin color changing line?

At my place of work, there is a monitor with a long thin line towards the right side of the screen. It does not consistently stay one color, but it instead changes based on what color should be displaying there. For example if there is the white from the background of a new tab on google chrome, the line will be yellow instead of white, but when there is the dark blue of my background, it just displays a shade of blue that is different than the background. I do not know what the monitor was like before, and I do not know how long it has been like this as I just recently started using this monitor and it was like this from the moment I was using it. If you need to know it is an ultra wide 2560x1080 in case that somehow helps. Any ideas?

Defective monitor. Only thing to do is replace.

I was worried that might be the case, but don't know a ton about monitors, so I figured I would ask to be sure.
