how to format partition and change it to mbr/gpt?

Hello. I'm installing Windows 8.1 on my new PC.

SPECS:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE 78LMT USB3
CPU: AMD FX 8300
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVORAM: PNY Anarchy 2x8 16gb
PSU: EVGA 500W
GPU: Zotac GeForce GTX 1050
LG Optical Drive
Samsung 160GB Drive

Those are my parts. Now, on to what happens. I tried to install Windows 10 earlier, and it didn't work, so now the drive has two unused Windows 10 saves on it. I'm very new to PC, so I know alot of the basics and what not, but I don't know how I'm supposed t get Windows 10 off of this drive. I would ignore it and try to install, but it says that Windows 8.1 will not install on it because it isn't MBR or GPT. Help?

When you get to the disk partition screen. Delete all partitions and reformat using the default settings already filled in. If that fails you will need to boot into a USB/DVD portable version of windows and format the drive that way then try your install.

Also make sure your BIOS/UEFI is set to AHCI mode.

how do i find that? ive been searching the menus for it and i havent found it.

It might be in a 'Legacy' setting menu. If you truly can't find it and have looked everywhere in the BIOS then the only option is to install a portable boot version of windows on a USB or DVD and boot from that and then format the drive you are trying to install to the proper format.

i just found a fix for the partition thing. i had to go into the console and manually clean it, and it works, but when i get to "getting ready", it freezes. the lights on my keyboard and mouse are still on though. i'm very confused.
