How to format toshiba tecra A9

can anyone help me how to format Toshiba Tecra A9 model no PTS52E-01202SG4 ??
While inserting bootable disk of Windows SP3 the screen goes blank and after some time it shows no hard disk found. whereas the hard drive is there and working absolutely fine.

ok ummm 2 way 1 u can put the hd in a diffrent computer as a second harddrive then format it or when u insert the disc it will prompt u for a clean install and there u can format the drive

Try to use Windows Xp SP2 it will work
