how to fresh install windows 10 to my brand new ssd?

hi, i'm a korean going to upgrade with ssd (and please understand my poor english)

i've already updated to windows 10 with my conventional hdd and bought a brand new ssd.

can i fresh install on the ssd?

i think there might be a certification problem because of a change of hw.

The only time you'll see a hardware issue is if you change motherboards.





1) Check that the software and hardware you mostly use are comptible with Windows 10 and have drivers available


2) Make sure to update all necessary drivers and Windows updates (Doesn't apply when doing a clean install)


3) Some devices might need a specific driver to operate with Windows 10, it might be a good idea to download these Windows 10 compatible versions prior to upgrading to have them ready. Save them on an external drive, flash drive or DVD disk.


4) Backup all and any important files from your computer to a cloud service or external harddrive


5) Create recovery media for your current Windows install, if you have a OEM pc/laptop refer to the user manual or check the website of the manufacturer for how to create the recovery media for your device

(some people have been unable to use the rollback feature after upgrading to Windows 10)

But i had same problem when i made an raid with two SSDs..
(that means, there was no any H/W changes..)

So, adding new SSD is totally no matter?

do i have to remove device from http://account.microsoft.com/devices?

or format the conventional HDD?

or just install W10 on new SSD and don't think about anything?

Windows 10 registers your BIOS hardware ID string with it's activation servers. If you've already performed an upgrade, your machine is already activated for windows 10. Just install the new SSD and don't forget to disconnect ALL other drives from the system while installing, then follow the instructions above to create installation media and perform a clean install.

When i reconnect my old HDD after that, can I just access all the files and programms like normal or do i have to install all of them again?

Anytime you do a clean install, there will no longer be libraries linked to your installed applications. If they were previously installed to the OS drive they will be gone entirely, and if they were installed to another drive then the supporting registry entries, .dll's (Dynamic link libraries) and other supporting files will no longer exist either, therefore, in any case where you reinstall windows, other than an upgrade, you will need to reinstall your applications and games.
