How to get 144hz on VG248QE

I just got this monitor and i love it but i cant find out how to enable 144hz on it. I have my DVI cable plugged in and have tried to change the amount of hertz I can use but it always says 60hz. I have a radeon 7850, do i need an Nvidia GPU or something? Im very confused any help would be very very appreciated.

Hey, you have the same gpu and monitor as me. Just go to the desktip right click and go to screen resolution, Advanced settings, monitor and you can change hz from there!

If it's not there you may need to use a different cable. DVI are really old and limited.

I have tried that but it always says 60, 59, and 50hz. Nothing else

Make sure you are plugged into the dual link dvi port. Some of the 7850s have 2 dci ports a single link and a dual link and single link will only give you 60hz. Also make sure you are using the dual link dvi cable that should have shipped with the monitor.

You can also set the video mode on the catalsyt control center, there should be your desired resolution in 60,120 (if supported) and 144 Hz flavors.

Just checked and it is dual link DVI

What, I use the same cable with the same monitor and same GPU, and I run on 144hz...
Can you give me the screen shot of where it goes up to 60 hz
