How do i get my serial mouse to work on Dos based games,
so i for ex. can use seperate mices on a game.
Like Settlers 2, 2 players can play a splitscreen game,
but Windows wont let the game get acccess to my serial
mouse (using com 2).
How do u solve this, or do i have to uninstall winXP and
install some older windows like 3.1 to get it to work???

Have you tried creating a shortcut for one of those DOS based games? The
"Misc" tab on the shortcut's properties dialog has a "QuickEdit" checkbox
which could interfere with normal mouse operation if it is checked. You may
need to use the Windows 95 compatability mode too.

Even with these measures, not all DOS applications will work properly, or at
all, under Windows. Under Windows 95 and Windows 98 a shortcut could be
configured to exit Windows and run a DOS mode without the controls, and
assistance, of Windows in useing much of the computer's resourses. In DOS
mode a level of experteze is required to add the commands nessesary for CD
ROM, sound card and mouse support. Some printers and game controls woun't
work in DOS mode at all. USB devices are particularly troublesome. Windows
NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP lack DOS Mode, as Microsoft wants to leave
DOS applications in the dust bin of history.
