woops...trying again, my title got cut off!

Hi,

I love my Canon PIXMA MP750, but anything placed too close (approx
1/8th inch) from an edge of the glass doesn't get scanned.

So...if I can't lay originals up against edges to ensure they're
straight, how do I center stuff? Especially small stuff? I need to scan
zillions of wallet sized photos, and I'm not sure how to go about it.
There's got to be some smart professional solution here...can anyone
help? I don't need super perfect straightness, but I'd like to come
reasonably close.

I realize one option is to post-process each image with "revolve image".
But that's a high hassle factor. Hope there's an easier way!

Thanks in advance!!

Well, how about a strip of masking tape along the edge of the glass. Or use
fine point paint marker to draw a grid on the glass. Clean it of with
acetone when done. Wont hurt the glass, and solves your problem.

You could also use a software solution, say, mine ...
