Question how to get max out PC for rendering

Hey, so my friend's pc is broken and he is designer, and he asked me if he could use my PC for VRay Rendering in 3ds Max. And he gave me an example file to test the results. It wasnt that good, so I got here to ask people who know on how to optimize a PC for rendering so I'll get some better results. Like what settings I miss for best performance
Specs:
i7 4770 (locked not K)
16gb ram
gtx1050ti
gigabyte h87d3h mobo
512gb ud pro ssd and 2tb wd black hdd

Try to oc the GPU because that’s the only thing you can really do because you can’t oc the cpu
